A Birthday Party on the Fast Lane

We know we have a lot of favorites when it comes to parties we have helped plan but we definitely love the decor that was put into this party.  It was a low-key, intimate party at a home and our clients still managed to make the party grand.  The party was a Disney Cars themed party and the lucky little boy was turning three.  The decor was simplistic yet made a grand impression.  Red, yellow and green balloons guided the guests through a hallway with a racing lane laid across the floor.  

The party had different areas designated with personalized menus: (1) Drink station; (2) Vegan food station; (3) Main entrees station; (4) Ice Cream station.  

Personalized stationary made by us helped to tie the theme together like the traffic ice cream cones, personalized monograms, Rusteze Ointment drinks, water bottle labels, "Riley" Cars logo sign, ice cream topping monograms, and birthday sign.

The Ice Cream Station was a hit and absolutely delish to look at and eat! 

A hit with the guests were the photo booth stand which featured Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater's car cutout as the framing and cute props to take pictures with.  Love love love!   Photo booths have become such a hit at events in the recent years, and this shows how easy and fun it can be to make one yourself.

Last but not least, we cannot forget the invitation that set the mood for the party to begin with.  The invite card was designed personally for the birthday boy with Lightning McQueen and the Piston Cup as the foundation. It was enclosed in a booklet fold that featured Lightning McQueen's eyes on the front.  The invitation was then placed in a racing red envelope with personalized guest labels.

This party was extremely well planned and had a lot of fun and unique ideas.  This is one lucky birthday boy!  Happy Vroomin Birthday! 

All About Mickey

We got to put together a Mickey Mouse Birthday Party for a two year old and let's just say that the possibilities are truly endless with Mickey Mouse.  There were so many ideas to choose from and one cuter than the next.  Firstly, we went with the traditional theme colors of black, red and yellow.    

The invitation consisted of Mickey Mouse's head as the enclosure and the invite in a circular shape.  The design on the invitation was simple since the enclosure was the real attention grabber and we didn't want too much design work to drown out the picture of Antonio.  This was placed in a beautiful shimmer gold envelope with personalized address labels as well. 

The banner featured a Happy Birthday sign in two clouds with the Disney font followed by the child's name in Mickey Mouse ears with the Mickey Mouse font.  A red backdrop was our canvas and we added yellow streamers, balloons and cute foil Mickey Mouse decorations we found on Amazon.  

Our table was laid out to feature a picture of the birthday boy in the center along a black runner.  Snacks included spinach artichoke dip with Mickey Mouse bread silhouettes made from cookie cutters.  There were also mini pizzas and baked potato bites that were all dressed with small monograms on toothpicks to tie in the theme.  

Everything had a food sign specially personalized with Mickey ears. 

Desserts included Oreo cookies made into the shape of Mickey Mouse as well as a chocolate cake dressed with figurines and a personalized mini cake banner for the special boy.  A second cake was made in the shape of Mickey Mouse as well and was the perfect ending to a classic yet detailed party.  There were also chocolate cupcakes with Nutella frosting .....

A fruit platter was an easy task and made extra special by simply cutting watermelon into Mickey Mouse shapes.  

Party favors consisted of red chocolate covered hazelnut balls in mini plastic cups turned upside down and wrapped in cellophane and ribbon, and of course with another personalized monogram.  

A second party favor was a transparent, plastic favor box stuffed with candies.  Since the box was clear, we put red with white polka dots tissue paper to tie in the theme colors.  The outside was decorated with another monogram and ribbon.  The best things about these boxes is that they are clear and you really can do anything you want with them and they are big enough to put in any type of favor.   You can purchase these at www.favorsandfixings.com along with your other party supplies.  

One of our guests' favorite details was the "I AM 2" banner placed along the high chair which was great for cake pictures.  

We also designed personal napkin rings to add a touch of elegance to the table setting.

One unique thing that we did was design a poster where all the guests had to write one word to describe the birthday boy.  This made for a great activity as well as a special keepsake for the birthday boy.  Once the festivities are over, the parents are going to put all of the Mickey Mouse ears that were written on and include it in the baby's birthday album to read when he is older.  We love planning parties but it's icing on the cake when you can keep those memories forever!

Ode to Prom

La Design Boutique had the honor and fun of creating an invitation for Prom! It was our first time creating a Prom Invitation and it was soooo much fun. We love festivities, and we love being a part of new events even more! This invitation was done for Gabrielino High School in San Gabriel, California and their theme is "This I Promise You". Their colors are going to be aqua, black and silver. Such elegant choices, right? We love their choice. They decided they wanted an elegant invitation with damask designs that showcased the theme colors. This was printed on a 4.25x6 glossy card and enclosed in a beautiful matte aqua envelope. Cinema Themed Wedding

Recently, I had a wonderful and beautiful bride who decided she wanted to do a Cinema-Themed Wedding. This was the first that I have done one, but I thought the idea was brilliant. We immediately brainstormed and came up with so many ideas that worked perfectly with the theme. She featured a candy bar which was both colorful and yummy! Guests were allowed to fill up their "popcorn boxes" with loads of candy.

The one thing I loved was that she made her table numbers the titles of romantic movies they have watched together. There were also DVD giveaways of the movies.

The stationary for the event was quite perfect. Their colors were purple and silver and it just really worked. The envelopments were hand-made and featured a side reel on the front of the invite with the date of the wedding. Below it was a personalize monogram with the couple's names and a chalk board like the ones they use on movie sets.

The one major hit at the wedding was the "movie ticket stub" place cards for the guests. Everyone was pleasantly surprised and it definitely set the mood for the event. I think that it allowed the couple to have fun with their wedding and also allowed their guests to tap into their love of "date night". Who can't relate with the magic of going out to the movies? Everything turned out perfectly and everyone had a great time. Congratulations to our happy couple!
